Cross Country Running

During the fall, Heart Lake Conservation Park plays host to a number of cross country races. The large shade trees offer runners the perfect conditions for training and competition. Our friendly staff has plenty of experience hosting cross country runs and will help make your next race a success.

Day Camps

During the summer months, Heart Lake Conservation Area plays host to numerous day camps and day cares. We offer an ideal location with many shaded areas, picnic shelters for lunch and snack times, open fields for sports and plenty of washrooms. Special permit pricing applies.

Fishing

earn to Fish at Heart Lake is a hands-on program for new anglers. This is a great opportunity to learn everything you need to know to have a safe and fun fishing experience.

Over the course of two hours you will learn all about fishing in Ontario — and you might even catch one for yourself!

Fitness Trail

Tired of exercising in crowded gyms? Enjoy your workout in a natural setting instead! Our new fitness trail at Heart Lake Conservation Park features four outdoor fitness stations that offer:

Hiking

Heart Lake Conservation Park’s hiking trails offer some of the most panoramic vistas in southern Ontario. Let exploration captivate you. Tall ridges surround you as you enter the woodlands. Curved trails guide you up hills, through flowered meadows, and past a still kettle lake nestled deep in the forest’s heart. Wander past hidden marshes and along a wooden boardwalk, discovering more of the beauty of the forest with every step.

Medicine Wheel Garden

The concept of a medicine wheel garden at Heart Lake came as a vision from a male elder of the Anishnawbe Nation. Working together, Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA), Peel Aboriginal Network, Heart Lake Community Action Area Group and the City of Brampton, created the Medicine Wheel Garden (Gitigaan Mashkiki) at Heart Lake Conservation Park, a space for healing, celebration and peace. The official opening was celebrated on May 20, 2010.

Pet Policy

Pets are permitted at most Toronto and Region Conservation areas. However, to ensure everyone’s safety and enjoyment, we do insist that:

• Pets are kept on a leash no longer than 2 metres at all times.
• Owners clean up after their pets.
• Pets are not permitted in the Aquatic or Visitor Centres.
• A maximum of three pets per person/family.
• Pets are never to be left unattended.

Tree Caching Trail

Watershed TreeCaching provides an opportunity for trail users to embark on a self guided tour of the landscape. With the aid of smart phone technology, participants will learn about the tree species they encounter while discovering the rich cultural and natural heritage of our watersheds.

Treetop Trekking

Enjoy the beauty of Heart Lake Conservation Park from high in the forest canopy, at our new Zip Line and Aerial Game Park. The aerial park features eight courses, 10 zip lines and more than 75 aerial games, including:

• Tarzan swings
